What Are Dr. Brigance’s
Four Pillars of Connection?
The Four Pillars offer couples a clear, research-backed way to stay connected through reproductive grief. They address:
Mindful emotional responding
Navigating conflict and decisions
Exploring disrupted dreams of parenthood
Maintaining intimacy and passion
The quick answer: the Four Pillars are four evidence-based relationship skills identified in Dr. Clay’s research with over 1,000 couples that predict which couples sustain closeness during infertility, pregnancy loss, or reproductive trauma.
